My Walgreens Shopping Trip 4/18 (No Nasal Ease in sight, but Nice deal on Bath Tissue)

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

April 20, 2012 by Fritzie

So, I stopped in earlier in the week looking for one Nasal Ease (I had one $5.00 coupon that would have made it a $5.00 moneymaker after the Register Reward, but alas, I did not find a single one). I stopped in at two of my Walgreens stores again this week after their trucks came in, but still no luck. While it can be a bummer not to find what you’re looking for, just keep in mind with couponing and shopping in general, there will always be another deal. For me, it was no biggie to stop in at my stores,  I was already out doing errands both times anyway, so it’s not like I was out any extra time or money hunting for one deal. With gas prices being what they are nowadays, I generally plan my trips in advance and keep my outings to a minimum. I have a list in hand of the places I need to go and the order in which I’ll be going. It keeps me a little more sane that way. 😉 Anyway, I did 2 transactions on my latest trip to Walgreens:

Transaction #1:

  • Similasan Nasal Allergy Relief – $6.00, Used $1.50/1 Similasan Product, any 4/1 SS insert, Got back $6.00 RR (I can’t wait to try this one, my allergies have been driving me crazy lately!)
  • Hunt’s Tomato Sauce (8 oz.), $0.33, Used Walgreens in-ad store coupon
  • Used $4.00 RR from previous trip
  • Final Cost $0.88 and got back $6.00 RR

Transaction #2:

  • 2 Nice! Ultra Premium Bath Tissue (12 Double Rolls ea.) – $5.00 ea., Got $2.00 RR (Note: I like this bath tissue a LOT better than the other brand they carry “Real Soft & Strong,” I didn’t care for that one at all, in fact, I hated it. And don’t even get me started on “Tuf” Paper Towels, blech!)
  • Natural Dentist Mouthwash (16.9 oz.) – $6.99, Used $2.00/1 HERE (zipcode 77477) and submitted rebate
  • Used $6.00 RR from transaction above
  • Final Cost $9.68, Got back $2.00 RR and I’ll get $6.99 back for the Rebate

Operation Backyard Recovery: Free Trees in Joplin on Saturday 9am-Noon

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

April 19, 2012 by Fritzie

The Wildcat Glades Conservation & Audubon Center program Operation Backyard Recovery kicks off this Saturday 4/21/12 and thousands of free trees will be distributed. The event runs from 9:00am to Noon at the following locations:
In Joplin

  • Cunningham Park
  • Parr Hill Park
  • 2608 S. Main

In Duquesne

  • City Hall

This initiative was started to help reconstruct Joplin. Along with the Free Native Tree Seedlings, Native Shrubs, Wildflower Seed and Birdhouses will also be distributed to those impacted by the tornado. See here for more details.

I live in South Joplin and when the tornado hit, it basically took away everything I was familiar with. It took away my neighborhood, it took away lives and it took away people’s homes along with the trees and plants, leaving scarred skeletons that used to be trees and barren land for miles around. So, to have events like this means more than words can ever express. Thank you Nature Center, the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri and all the people involved to bring this amazing recovery effort together.

I took a couple of quick trips to Price Cutter this week and was pleasantly surprised by both trips. I found everything I was looking for each time, didn’t have any issues with coupons and the prices actually came up correctly both times at the register. 😉  (I don’t know about the Price Cutter in your area, but mine are both notorious for having the wrong prices ringing up at the register). Anyway, here’s what I snagged:

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

April 19, 2012 by Fritzie

If your Target remodeled recently to include Fresh Foods like mine did here in Joplin, then keep an eye out in your mail box for this “Fresh Savings” coupon booklet. I have never been one of the lucky ones to be on Target’s mailing list and I’m still not. These “Fresh” booklets are addressed to “Resident,” so even if you’ve never received anything in the mail from Target (like me), you might still get one of these in the mail. I received this one in the mail today and it came with several coupons, including a FREE one. These are all Target store coupons, so they can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons to maximize your savings. All of these expire 5/5/12. Let me know if you got one in the mail too! 🙂

  • FREE Grade A Large Dozen Eggs (No purchase Necessary)
  • $0.99 for Oscar Mayer Lunchables item (3.1-4.1 oz.) With Coupon
  • $0.99 for Birds Eye SteamFresh (10 or 12 oz.) or Green Giant (7-10 oz.)

April 19, 2012 by Fritzie

Here’s a great coupon you can print for $0.35 off any one Frank’s RedHot Sauce. You can often find the smaller bottles for $1.00, so if you have a store in your area that doubles coupons, only $0.30 after the coupon! Yum, we go through hot sauce like crazy around our house, so I’m always looking for coupons like this one!
