September 1, 2012 by Fritzie

I headed out to Target this morning in the drizzly, blowing rain (and, boy, is it awesome to have some rain!) mainly to take advantage of the hot Dr. Pepper deal and was very happy to discover that I had gotten there early enough to beat the weekend shopping crowd. I was also happy that I found a lot of what I was looking for in stock this time too. While I was there, I noticed that they had their Back to School on Clearance 30% Off towards the back of the store. The only 2 things I noticed were Bic Cristal Pens (10 pk.) for $0.68 to go with the $1/2 Bic Stationery 7/29 SS insert coupon & small rolls of Scotch Magic Tape for $0.70 (Free if you still have the Target coupon which expires 9/3 & the $0.25/1 Scotch Magic Tape 8/5 SS insert coupons). Here’s how my Target shopping trip went:

  • 4 Diet Dr. Pepper (12 oz. cans/12 pk.) – $2.50 ea., Used 2 $1/2 Dr. Pepper Soda 12 packs printable coupon (Print it before it’s gone!!!) & 4 $1/1 Dr. Pepper 12 pack Target store coupon
  • 4 Diet Dr. Pepper (2 liter) – $1.00, Used 4 $0.55/1 Target coupons
  • 4 Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser Kits – $5.99 ea., Used 4 $5/1 coupons previously available & 4 $1/1 Glade Target coupons

August 27, 2012 by Fritzie

I was out & about this weekend and stopped in at several stores to pick up a few things and here is my Target Shopping Trip. I hadn’t been to Target in quite a long time, it’s completely on the other side of town for me, so I generally don’t go unless I have at least a couple more trips in that direction. Plus, as hot as it’s been this summer I simply haven’t been getting out nearly as much these last couple months. I’ll probably be going more often now, especially since Dollar Tree (which just started accepting coupons ) is right around the corner. A lot of what I was looking for was out of stock, but not surprising considering I was shopping on a Sunday which is usually pretty picked over by then. No worries, though, I still found plenty of great deals. 🙂

  • 2 International Delight Coffee Creamer products (32 oz.) – $1.79 ea., Used 2 $1.50/1 International Delight Creamer coupon (Still Available!). Note: There’s also a $0.55/1 Target coupon in the 7/22 RP insert, I didn’t get that one, but was more than happy to pay $0.29 ea. for these, I’m having the Almond Joy variety with my coffee right now, boy, is it yummy!
  • 2 Diet Dr. Pepper (2 liter) – $1.00, Used 2 $0.55/1 Dr. Pepper 2 liter Target coupons
  • 2 Up&Up Cotton Balls (100 ct.) – $0.99 ea., Used 2 $0.50/1 Up&Up Cotton Care item Target coupons
  • 2 Up&Up Facial Tissue (100 ct.) – $0.99, Used 2 $0.50/1 Up&Up Facial Tissue Target coupons
  • 2 Ortega Taco Seasoning – $0.69, Used $1.00/2 Ortega products All You Magazine, August issue
  • 4 Papermate Eagle Pens (10 ct.) – $1.00 ea., Used 4 $1.00/1 Target couons (no longer available)
  • 3 RoseArt Crayons – $0.25 ea, School Glue (4 oz.) – $0.32 & 2 Colored Pencils (12 pk.) – $0.52 ea., Used 2 $1.00/3 RoseArt printable coupon (no longer available, but some areas got this coupon in their 7/29 RP insert)
  • Birds Eye Voila 3 Cheese Chicken – $3.99, Used previous $3.00/1 Birds Eye Voila printable coupon (John & I had a nice lunch with this when I got back from my shopping trip)
  • Final Cost $5.22 (plus I had a Target Gift Card from a previous trip, so I spent ZERO out of pocket) ♥

My Dollar Tree Shopping Trip with Coupons

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

August 26, 2012 by Fritzie

Since today was the first day Dollar Tree started accepting coupons, I stopped in to check it out for myself. The store was pretty wiped out of stock, but I still noticed several deals when I took a look around and I took a whole bunch of pictures which I’ll be posting along with coupon matchups tomorrow. I didn’t buy a whole lot, I just kind of wanted to see how familiar the cashiers were with the coupons at this point. I also snagged a few Kansas City Star Newspapers since they’re only $1.00 there and the Star was WAY more coupons in it than the Globe. When I checked out, I told the cashier I had coupons and I kid you not, she said “Oh No!” and had this look of just utter horror on her face. She put the few through that I had and called another cashier over and said “These coupons are all for $1.00, can I accept these since it will make the products free?” The other cashier said, yes it was fine that the items were free after the coupons as long as they met the requirements noted on the coupons (size, etc.), they just couldn’t take any Free product coupons where an amount had to be written on the coupon.

I’m mentioning this, because there will be a learning curve for everyone on this new coupon policy and some Dollar Tree employees will simply have a better grasp or more knowledge of the coupon policy than others. Especially since this is brand new for everyone, I highly encourage you to print the coupon policy and take it along with you so you’ll have it with you when you need it. So, anyway, here was my Dollar Tree Shopping trip today:

  • 4 Kansas City Star Newspapers – $1.00 ea.
  • Speed Stick Deodorant (1.7 oz.) – $1.00, Used $1.00/1 Speed Stick (excluded 2.0, 1.4 or 0.5 oz. sizes) 8/12 SS insert
  • 3 Nescafe Taster’s Choice Coffee Stick Packs (6 ct.) – $1.00 ea., Used 3 $1.00/1 Nescafe Taster’s Choice Coffee, any size home mailer coupon
  • Final Cost $4.69

Did you go to the Dollar Tree? What kind of deals did you snag?

My Price Cutter Shopping Trip Earlier this week

August 18, 2012 by Fritzie

Here’s my Price Cutter Shopping Trip from the beginning of this week. Two of my favorite things about shopping at Price Cutter are their markdowns in their meat department and their good sales on Hiland Dairy products, which we buy all the time. Also, I started shopping at the Price Cutter in Joplin again this summer and I have to say my trips have gone much better than they did in the past. Unlike previous trips, prices have all been ringing up correctly and I haven’t had any issues with coupon usage at all which is great. I am very glad this location has improved, so if you haven’t given them a try in awhile, you may want to now. I’m just happy they have stepped up their customer service because we really need all the grocery shopping options we can get in Joplin! I’m really hoping we get a few more grocery shopping options in the near future of the next few years, that is something we SO need. I would love to see a Hy-Vee store here, hopefully one will someday. And Dillons, sighhh, what can I say about Dillons. I have contacted them numerous times and I continue to get the same response, they will be coming back, just no news on when and where just yet. Believe me, as soon as I hear ANYTHING concrete, I will be shouting the news from the rooftops. In my opinion, any Dillons news is very, very long overdue. Anyway, here’s the details from my Price Cutter shopping trip from the beginning on this week:

  • 1 Hiland Dip & 1 Hiland Sour Cream (16 oz.) – $1.49 ea., Used $0.50/2 6/10 SS insert SS insert (doubled)
  • 2 Hiland Orange Juice (half gallon) – $1.49 ea., Used $0.50/2 Hiland coupon (doubled)
  • 2 Hiland Cottage Cheese (24 oz.) – $2.29 ea., Used $0.50/1 Hiland printable coupon (doubled)
  • 2 Hiland Family Pak Ice Cream (56 oz.) – $1.50 ea., Used $0.45/1 previously available (doubled)
  • 2 packages of Smart Chicken Whole, Cut Up, Mamger’s Special $0.99 lb., $3.25 & $3.63 (Great price for Smart Chicken!)
  • Black Angus Top Sirloin, about 1 lb., Marked down to $2.74
  • 3 Diet Crush Soda (2 liter) – $0.99, Used $1.00/3 Peelie coupon
  • 2 Pepsi Next (2 liter) – $0.99, Used 2 $0.50/1 Peelies (doubled)
  • 5 Pop Tarts – $1.69, Used $1.00/3 Pop Tarts 7/29 RP insert, & 2 $0.70/1 coupons previously available
  • Final Cost $26.56

My Dollar General Shopping Trip (Cheap Hellmann’s Mayo and more deals)

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

July 29, 2012 by Fritzie

After looking through the coupons from my Joplin Globe this morning, I decided to go and pick up a Kansas City Star. It has SO many more coupons than our local paper it is just astounding. I’ve compared each insert side by side in the past and it’s not even close, the bigger city papers get way more coupons for sure. I let my subscription to the Star expire awhile back because they wanted to charge me more than double the cost of the paper to deliver it. I called them up and asked for a better rate, they dropped they price, but still was not a good deal in my opinion, so I passed.  I have been keeping an eye out for a better deal, but haven’t spotted one as of yet.

In the meantime, I headed to my very nearby Dollar General to pick up one and snag a few deals while I was there. Tip: Some Dollar Tree Stores carry Sunday Newspapers and sell them for only $1.00. The one here in Joplin sells the Star, but head’s up, if you want one, be sure and get there right when they open, because from what I’ve heard, people are standing in line at the door waiting for them to open on Sunday mornings. I haven’t gone to pick up a Sunday paper from the one in Joplin since they moved after the tornado. It’s just too far out of my way now to justify the trip, especially in this heat. 😉

Anyway, I checked Dollar General’s ad this morning and noticed a few deals, so here’s what I snagged on this trip. I’m working on a Dollar General post for the week, so stay tuned later today…

  • KC Star – $2.00
  • 1 Stayfree Pads – $2.00, Used $2.00/1 Stayfree 7/22 SS insert
  • 2 Hellmann’s Mayo (30 oz.) – $3.50 ea., Note: Keep an eye out, my store had Bonus Free Onion Dip Packs attached to the Mayo! Used $2.00/2 coupon from RecycleBank (125 pts.) and 2 $1.00/1 Dollar General Store coupons
  • 2 Ragu Pasta Sauce (26 oz.) – $1.50 ea., Used $0.60/2 Ragu 7/29 RP insert and $1.00/2 Dollar General Store coupon
  • Final Cost $6.71

My Price Cutter Shopping Trip (Love their Manager’s Specials)

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

July 24, 2012 by Fritzie

So, here’s my Price Cutter Shopping Trip for the week. I headed out early this morning to try and beat the heat (as usual) and boy, I am so glad I went early, because it was absolutely scorching when I got home. I SO hope we get some rain soon, I don’t know how the farmers are making it right now, my heart goes out to all of them! It seems like all the articles in the paper lately have been about the heat or drought in the area, whew! In fact, it’s been so hot, the power has been going off on a daily basis for us, thankfully, not for very long stretches at a time. Anyway, back to the subject. Here’s my shopping trip this time around:

  • Black Angus Ground Chuck (lftb-free, btw) – $1.99 lb., so $7.36
  •  Tyson All-Natural Chicken Thighs – Manager’s Special $0.99 lb., so $3.58, Used $1.00/1 home mailer coupon (I emailed and told them what I liked about their products and they mailed me 3 $1.00/1 coupons)
  •  3 Diet Crush Soda (2 liter) – $0.99 ea., Used $1.00/3 coupon 7/22 Pepsico insert (There were also $1.00/3 peelie coupons on each of the sodas I bought, good through 9/30 that I’ll be able to use on a future purchase)
  •  3 Hamburger Helpers – $1.00 ea., Used $0.75/3 coupon 6/3 SS insert (I loved that the 40% more bonus boxes were included in the sale)
  •  Bread from the Bakery – $1.99, Used $1.00 peelie coupon
  •  2 Lay’s Kettle Chips – $1.99 ea., Used $1.00/2 coupon 7/22 Pepsico insert
  •  2 Land O Frost Deli Shaved – BOGO @ $3.05, so $1.53 ea., Used $1.00/2 here
  •  Best Choice Toaster Pastries (6 ct.) – $1.00
  •  American Beauty Spaghettti (16 oz.) – $1.00
  •  Reser’s Hashbrowns – $1.00
  •  4 Libby’s Canned Corn – $0.59 ea., Used $1.00/4 Libby’s coupon (previously available) I keep hearing how hard corn has been hit this year with the weather, so I figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to stock up while the price is right.
  •  Oscar Mayer Selects Premium Beef Franks (16 oz.) – $4.69, Used FREE coupon (no longer available)
  •  Final Cost $25.73
