This was one of those weeks I actually made it to Walgreens on a Sunday. I was motivated by the FARR (free after register reward) EOS Lip Balm sale. I’ve tried tons of different lip balms, but EOS is my favorite! 🙂

One of the many things I love about Dillons is their Mega Event Sales and this week’s was an especially good one in my opinion! All prices below are after the Mega Event Sale discount (purchase any 10 participating items, get $5.00 off). I purchased a total of 40 Mega Event items and all (4) $5.00 discounts came off. I’m always so relieved after the discounts came off knowing that I counted correctly. 😉

I haven’t been shopping a whole lot at Target lately and it seems every time I do, the coupons do something strange. This trip was a great example of that:

  • Clearance Item $3.15 (This is for a gift & I forgot to take this out before I took the picture, so I just blocked it out of the picture-no peeking! Lol)
  • Market Pantry Half & Half Qt. $1.64 (Cheaper than Walmart or Aldi in my area)
  • 2 Johnsonville Beef Brats, On Clearance $1.88 ea., Used 2 $0.55/1 coupons from the 5/2 SS insert
  • Bounty Basic Paper Towels Single Roll $0.99, Used $1.00/1 home mailer coupon (automatically adjusted to $0.99)
  • 10 Shout Wipe & Go Travel Size $0.97 ea., Used 5 $2.00/1 coupon from the 8/8 SS insert (expires today) Note: This is where the coupons got a little crazy. So, instead of taking $2.00 off for each coupon, it took off $0.97. Fortunately, I was watching the register intently & caught the mistake. The cashier called over the supervisor & after a lengthy discussion between them, they decided to manually deduct $0.97 10 times. So, I watched the cashier do this & it deducted $0.97 8 times & on the 9th & 10th times, it deducted $2.00 each time! I told the cashier, but he kept insisting it was right, so I let it go. I think he was ready to get my transaction over with & I was more than ready to leave. 😉

I didn’t do much shopping this week, here’s a few deals I got a Price Cutter (these deals are from last week’s ad). One of the things I like best about Price Cutter is that they have good quality meats & they also mark them down frequently. This deal is a great example of that:

My Walgreens trip this week was great. It was storming like crazy that day and when I got to Walgreens, it was completely dead. I took advantage of the quiet and was able to do several transactions at the Cosmetic Counter. I was the only customer the whole time I was there, and I have to say I loved it! I don’t normally do that many transactions in one trip, but they had tons of stock & the cashier encouraged me to do so, so I did! 🙂

The picture above is my entire haul. I started out with only one $2.00 Register Reward. When I finished my transactions, this was the final result: I used one $2.00 RR, spent $3.49 OOP (out of pocket) and I got back $8.00 in Register Rewards to use on future transactions. That’s what I call a great deal! Here’s how I did it:
