NOTE: I noticed this week they added a coupon policy, I’m glad they now at least have a printed policy so it makes it clearer on what coupons they do accept. Check it out HERE.

Note: I took a trip out to Price Cutter today and I’m glad I did, because a couple things in their ad this week were a bit deceptive if you ask me. So, I’m glad I’ll be able to share this information within my post this week. I ended up leaving my store empty handed, as I was not impressed today!

MEAT/POULTRY/SEAFOOD

Johnsonville Roll Sausage 16 oz. $1.00 While Supplies Last NOTE: What they fail mention in their ad is that my store had a sign up stating “LIMIT 1”. I don’t know if all the stores have this, if they do, they certainly should have stated this in their ad! I’ll be checking another location tomorrow and will let you know.

Farmland All Natural Picnic Ham $1.00 lb. Great deal right?! Well, the so-called “Ham” turned out to be very funky looking in Cry-O-Vac packaging in fresh meat a raw “Pork Picnic Roast.” I had to ask 2 stockers there and they finally led me to this. Now, how on earth is that a ham I ask you?!?!?! I think they should have referred to this in the ad as a Pork Picnic Shoulder, that would have been a more accurate description.

Midwestern Gold Premium Whole Boneless Pork Loin $1.29
The only ones they had were huge all 10 lbs. and up. Good deal if you have a big freezer and they’ll cut it up for free

On the down side, you have to carefully scrutinize your receipt during and after purchase because they often have their prices wrong (at least at my location). I’ve spent a lot of time in the customer service line as a result. Click on the logo above to check out their website for weekly ads & store locator. Note that any FREE items after coupons will be highlighted in green.

NOTE: I noticed this week they added a coupon policy, I’m glad they now at least have a printed policy so it makes it clearer on what coupons they do accept. Check it out HERE.

Price Cutter Problems

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

August 5, 2009 by Fritzie

The past few months at Price Cutter, it seems like I’ve had more negative experiences at my nearest location. I’ve had a lot of incorrect prices at the register, a rude/grumpy cashier on numerous occasions, problems with Internet Coupons (even though they say they take them). I just feel strongly that a customer shouldn’t be treated rudely when the store is at fault. Numerous times, this store has acted put out when they have to correct their own mistake (and I am referring to the incorrect prices, not the coupons).

The funny thing is I have another store about 20 minutes away and on the few occasions I have gone there, I have never had a single problem. It’s too bad, because I really do like some of Price Cutter’s products. I used shop there a minimum of once a week, but I now find myself shopping there less and less. I just started dreading going there and a person should not have to feel that way when they’re going somewhere to spend their hard-earned money. Fortunately, I have plenty of other choices for grocery shopping in my area.

I contacted Price Cutter’s customer service online, but they were less than responsive (and I contacted them twice). It’s too bad. If I were a business, I would want to hear from my customers about any issues they were having so I could improve and bring in more business or at least keep the business I have. UPDATE: I did finally get more than a canned response this afternoon and the Director of Guest Relations said the issues I addressed would be forwarded to the Store Director, so that’s a step in the right direction! 🙂 I also received a very nice email from the Store Director himself.
