It was nice and cool this morning, there was hardly an traffic and everything I was looking for was in stock. It was a good day at the stores. 🙂 I was extremely happy to stock up on some fresh produce and meat today, as I was getting pretty low on both. I also did a little shopping for my mil, so several items aren’t pictured, John had already deivered them to her. Anyway, here’s what I snagged on today’s shopping trips:

I have been really lucky about finding meat markdowns at my Price Cutter, I am not sure if all Price Cutter locations do this, but it sure makes for some nice savings.

  • Sirloin Steak (about 1 lb), marked down to $2.53
  • 3 packages of Tyson All Natural Chicken Breasts, on Manager Special for $0.99 lb, plus each package was marked down $1, so each package was $2.63, $2.39 and $2.99 and I got a total of approx 11 lbs, so it worked out to about $0.73 per pound
  • Ground Beef Marked down, got about 4 1/2 lbs for $8.51

shopping trips

Here are my recent shopping trips from my outing yesterday. I headed out to run a few errands and stopped in at Aldi, Price Cutter and Walgreens. When I get out, I prefer getting as many things done in as little trips as possible. Not only does it save precious time, but it also saves money on gas as well. And those darn gas prices can add up fast, especially since it is around $3.80 a gallon right now. Bleh! Anyway, here is what I picked up:

Aldi

  • Head Lettuce – $0.69
  • Green Bell Peppers 3 ct – $1.49 (I was especially happy with this purchase, their bell peppers were huge on this trip! I sliced 2 of them up as soon as I got home and they were so good!)
  • 2 Strawberries 1 lb containers – $0.99 each
  • Avocado – $0.39
  • 2 cans Tuna – $0.69 each
  • Oat Bran Bread 20 oz – $1.29
  • Large Eggs, dozen – $1.14
  • Pork Rinds – $0.99
  • Mustard 14 oz – $0.69
  • Adventuridge Rechargeable Camping Lantern – $9.99 (Pictured below. I was really happy to get this, I didn’t have a rechargeable lantern like this one, I liked that it can also be charged with a car charger.)
  • Final Cost $21.27

shopping trip

Here is my latest Price Cutter shopping trip. I stopped in today to check and see if they had the Kraft coupons in-store that were shown in the online ad version and they were! It was hard to read what the coupons were online, so I have listed them below for easy reference. The coupons were in with this week’s ad. They are all manufacturer’s coupons and they are all good through May 31st. Hopefully Price Cutter will be running a sale on Kraft products before the end of the month. I was in a bit of a hurry, but while I was there I did notice a nice deal on Kraft Cheese. Kraft cheese slices, blocks and shredded cheese were priced at $2.50, so $1.50 after the in-ad coupon. I picked up a couple packages of the sliced cheese myself along with a few other items:

  • 2 Bags of Green Giant Veggie Chips 5 oz – $1.00 each, Used 2 $0.50/1 Green Giant Chips coupons (doubled)
  • 2 Jennie-O Turkey Franks 12 oz – $0.99 each, Used $0.55/2 Jennie-O Turkey Franks coupon
  • Boneless Pork Loin 1.5 lb – $3.50, marked down to $1.50
  • Black Angus Ground Chuck 1.31 lb – $4.96, marked down to $2.96
  • 2 Kraft Natural Sliced Cheese – $2.50 each, Used $2/2 coupon in-ad
  • Final Cost $9.32

Coupons in the 5/8-5/14 ad (all valid through 5/31/13)

  • $2/2 Crystal Light Drink Mix 10-12 qt
  • $1/2 Maxwell House Coffee 11-12 oz
  • $2/2 Planters Peanut Butter 15-16.3 oz
  • $2/2 Planters Peanuts 16 oz
  • $2/2 Velveeta Cheesy Skillets
  • $2/2 Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh or Cold Cuts 7-9 oz

  • $2/2 Kraft or Cracker Barrel Natural Cheese Slices 7-8 oz
  • $2/2 Kraft Singles 16 oz
  • $2/2 Bull’s-Eye BBQ Sauce 18 oz
  • $2/2 A1 Steak Sauce 10 oz
  • $2/2 Oscar Mayer Meat Bologna & Cotto Salami 16 oz
  • $2/1 Oscar Mayer Sliced Bacon 12-16 oz, excludes selects

walgreens shopping trip

Here is my latest Walgreens shopping trip. I actually stopped in at two locations today. I have two nearby where I live and I had one other stop to make so I went to one Walgreens on my way and a second Walgreens on my way back. There are a lot of nice buys this week, so I wanted to be sure and stop in early this week and I was happy to find everything I was looking for today. Each store I stopped in was fully stocked, which was awesome. So I haven’t been shopping regularly at Walgreens for awhile and was feeling a bit rusty. To feel a little more prepared, I made myself a little cheat sheet and brought it to the store with me in an envelope along with the coupons I had planned on using. I had 4 transaction in mind that I wanted to do, so I wrote down each item I wanted and in what order I wanted to do each in, with the coupons I needed. This actually worked out really well for me and was super smooth in spite of a couple small hiccups. I started out with a single $10 register reward and this is what I picked up today:

Store #1, Transaction #1:

  • W Perfection Tampons 8 ct – $1.49, got back $1.50 RR
  • Breathe Right Extra Nasal Strips 10 ct – $4.00, Used the $2/1 any Breathe Right Strips 10-30 ct mfg. coupon (exp 8/31/13) from Walgreens Cold & Flu booklet. It beeped, the cashier scrutinized it carefully, then pushed it through since it was a valid coupon). Got back $4.00 RR  (there is also a $1/1 Breathe Right printable coupon if you don’t want to mess with the beeping or haven’t found the $2/1 coupon in-store).
  • Florax DS 0.17 oz – $7.00, got back $7.00 RR
  • Used $10 RR from a previous trip
  • Final Cost $0.53, got back $7, $4, $1.50 RRs

Store #2, Transaction #1

  • Calagel 6 oz – $5.00, Used $2/1 ip coupon previously available, got back $5.00 RR
  • W Perfection Tampons 8 ct – $1.49, got back $1.50 RR
  • Used $4 RR from the above transaction
  • Final Cost $0.53, got back $5, $1.50 RRs

Store #2, Transaction #2

  • 2 Nice! Natural Walnuts 5 oz – $1.99 each
  • W Perfection Tampons 8 ct – $1.49, got back $1.50 RR
  • Breathe Right Strips 10 ct – $4.00, Used $2/1 coupon (again beeped, but it was pushed through), got back $4.00 RR
  • Used $7.00 from the Store #1 trip above
  • Final Cost $0.49, got back $4, $1.50 RRs

Store #2, Transaction #3

  • Calagel 6 oz – $5.00, Used $2/1 ip coupon previously available, got back $5.00 RR
  • W Perfection Tampons 8 ct – $1.49, got back $1.50 RR
  • Used $4 RR from the above transaction
  • Final Cost $0.53, got back $5, $1.50 RRs

Final Outcome: So, I started out with a single $10 register reward, I spent $2.08 OOP (out of pocket) total and when all was said and done, I was left with $16.00 in Register Rewards to use on future transactions (2-$5 RR and 4-$1.50 RRs).

Final Thoughts: It was one of my best trips I’ve had in a long time and I have to say that pre-planning helped me tremendously! I tend to be easily distracted, so I don’t do nearly as well when I fly by the seat of my pants. 😉 I will definitely try to plan more of my trips out like this in the future.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out all of the Walgreens Deals this week, there are quite a few great buys you can snag.

shopping trip

So I have not been posting my shopping trips for awhile and I thought it would be fun to start sharing again especially since my latest Walgreens shopping trip ended up being such a nice deal. And I have to say, I have been having a lot better luck finding the items that I need in stock too. The last few times I have gone to my nearest Walgreens, I find what I am looking for and believe me, that tickles me to no end. I mean, it can get exasperating schlepping to a store only to find the store has been completely wiped out. That is one of the reasons that when I do go out I try to incorporate several errands and store trips in one combined trip. Not only does that help save on gas (ouch!), but it saves me a whole bunch of time and I am not as irritated if one of the stores I have been to that day does not have what I am looking for. Anyway, onto the details of my Walgreens shopping trip from earlier today. The Reach Floss that was supposed to be on sale for 2/$6.00,but it turned out to actually be on sale for Buy One, Get one 50% Off which turned out to be an even HOTTER deal than originally anticipated, woot! I love when that happens! 🙂

  • 4 Reach Total Care Plus Whitening Floss – $9.00 Total (Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off @ 2/$6.00, so 2 rang up at $3, 2 at $1.50). I used 2 Use $1/2 Reach Floss coupons from here and here, Got back $3.00 RR and Got 6,000 Balance Rewards Points
  • 4 TEN Soda 12 packs (2 Dr. Pepper, 1 A&W and one 7Up) – $2.99 each, Used $1/1 Walgreens store coupon from the Monthly Coupon Book
  • 4 Butterfinger Candy Bars – $0.39 each, Got back 500 Balance Rewards Points for buying 4
  • Used $11.00 in previous RRs
  • Final Cost $5.88 + got back a $3.00 Register Reward and 6,500 Balance Rewards Points.

You can also check out the rest of Walgreens Deals this week HERE.

target shopping

So here is my latest Target Shopping trip along with the details. I have not been going to Target on a regular basis, but I am going to try and get back in the groove. 😉 I seem to find that every time I go I don’t always find everything I am looking for, but I am always happy with the end result of my trip. We just have the one Target here in Joplin and can sometimes it can be pretty picked over. I normally do not have much luck finding Target clearance deals, but on this trip I stumbled across several nice buys. I tried taking pictures, but for some reason, they all came out just really atrociously and really dark. I won’t bother posting them here because you can’t even seem them. I guess I will have to blame it on user error this time, oops! LOL Anyway, I found several Glade products on clearance including the Glade Expressions Oil Diffusers for $5.08. After coupons they were only $0.08 each! And they also had Glade Expression Mists for $2.64 (there is still a $2/1 coupon here) and the mist refills for $1.64. I picked up a couple of the diffuser kits. I just love any of these kinds of products like these diffuser kits because no batteries are required and you do not have to plug it in and waste precious electricity. Oh, and the funny thing was all of these Glade Clearance items weren’t with the Glade products. They were on an endcap way on down by the dog food, so go figure! Anyway, here’s my Target shopping deals on this trip:

  • 2 Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser Kits – On Clearance $5.08, Used 2 $4.00/1 Glade Expressions coupons from here and 2 $1/1 Target coupons
  • Velveeta 2 lb – $5.30, Used $1/1 Velveeta coupon from here
  • 2 cans of Ro-Tel – $0.87 each, Used 2 cans FREE wyb Velveeta Target coupon
  • 4 Angel Soft Toilet Paper 12 Double Rolls – $5.99 each, Used 4 $1/1 Angel Soft coupons (previously available) and 4 $1/1 Target coupons
  • 4 Hormel Chili – $0.97 each, Used 2 $0.55/2 Hormel coupon
  • Hormel Party Tray – $9.49, Used $3/1 Hormel coupon
  • UpUp Antiseptic Mouthwash 1.5 Liter – $2.99, Used $1/1 Target coupon
  • 2 Poise Feminine Care Wipes – $3.49 each, Used 2 $3/1 Poise coupons from the 1/13 SmartSource insert and 2 $1/1 Target coupons
  • 4 UpUp Facial Tissue 100 ct – $0.99 each, Used 4 $0.50/1 UpUp Target coupons
  • Planter Peanuts – $3.50, Used $1/1 Planters coupon
  • 2 Lindor Truffles 6 oz – $3.50 each, Used 2 $3/1 Lindor coupons
  • Final Cost $31.10 (I used $20.00 in Target gift cards I had from previous transactions, so I only paid $11.10 out of pocket)

Price Cutter Shopping Trip | Meat Markdowns, Cheap Juice, Cheap Cottage Cheese

February 10, 2013 by Fritzie

price cutter shopping trip

So, on my latest Price Cutter shopping trip I did what I usually do. I headed to Price Cutter’s meat department to see what markdowns they had. I have been pretty lucky finding markdowns. I usually go shopping in the mornings so that may have something to do with it. And my store generally discounts items in one of two ways. In the meat department, they sometimes put coupons on the items and when you checkout the cashier peels the coupons off and the discount comes off at the register. Other times, they will have “Manager Specials” where they have discounted certain cuts of meat for the day. These are limited and when they are gone, they are gone. Today, I found manager specials and coupons on quite a few items, but the stand out deal for me were on a couple cuts on pork, only $0.99 per pound. Those are the kinds of deals I like! 🙂 Anyway, onto my trip.

  • Pork Steak $0.99 lb – $1.61 (“Manager Special”)
  • Pork Country Style Ribs $0.99 lb – $2.32 (another “Manager Special”, I love to put these in the crockpot on low, they turn out so tender that way!)
  • 2 Ortega Taco Seasoning – $0.69 each, Used $0.50/2 Ortega coupon from the 1/13 SmartSource insert (doubled)
  • 2 Hiland Cottage Cheese 24 oz – $2.19 each, Used 2 $0.50/1 Hiland Cottage Cheese coupons from here (doubled)
  • 2 Old Orchard 100% Juice Cranberry Pomegranate – $2.00, Used $1/2 Old Orchard Juice coupon from here and Price Cutter coupon (took $0.51 off each bottle)
  • 6 Yoplait Yogurt Cups $0.39 each – Used $0.40/6 Yopalit coupon from here (doubled)
  • Smart Balance Butter 7.5 oz – $1.79, Used $1.25/1 Smart Balance coupon
  • Final Cost $11.27
