I just realized I went to Dillons 3 times this week, whew! I went on Monday to grab a few good deals and to get the movie ticket from the Dillons Digital Choice Rewards and yesterday went to get one more ticket before the promotion was over (runs through 4/20). Now today, I hadn’t planned on going at all, but my printer died unexpectedly yesterday & after hours of attempting to clean and revive the printhead I finally had to give up. Nowadays, it’s just as cheap to go & get another printer than to have one fixed. So, I headed off to shop for my printer and found one I could work with for now. Anyway, on my way back home, I swear my car just drove itself into Dillons parking lot and there I was. 😉 I’m glad I did go though, because I stumbled onto one really good clearance deal.

I had a few Register Rewards that expired yesterday, so off to Walgreens I went! Thankfully, my coupon-friendly cashier was working and she doesn’t mind doing more than 1 transaction. I don’t do a whole lot at a time or anything, but it’s nice to be able to do 3 or 4 transactions at a time and not have to come back to the store later in the week. I did run into a snafu with one of my coupons, but it was a fixable issue.

Transaction #1

  • Sudafed OM Mist $4.99 (This was priced at $5.99, but it showed up on sale at the register for $4.99. Man, I love Walgreens, but there are 2 things I REALLY wish they had. One, a corporate coupon policy so there wasn’t this constant chaos of whatever each store decides. And two, a Self-Scanner like Target stores have. It would be so nice to be able to check prices without having to bother the cashiers all the time.) Used $4.00/1 Sudafed OM coupon from the 3/14 RP insert
  • Sudafed PE 18 ct. $4.99, Used $2.00/1 coupon from the 3/14 RP insert, Got back $5.00 RR for purchasing both Sudafed items

I came back today and they were fully stocked, yay!

Like I posted earlier, I was visiting my family up in Iowa most of this week, so I didn’t shop much the last several days. While I was up there, they had a Kmart pretty close by, so off we went! We don’t have a Kmart where I live, so I was happy to get the chance to experience their double coupon event. I was disappointed in a couple things when I went there. First, the prices seem very high on almost all of their items. It felt like the only deals to be had were items that were on sale. Even with the double coupons, some of the items just weren’t worth the price. Second, I was disappointed that there was just a 5-coupon limit for the double coupons. If I had lived nearby and was able to stop by every day that might have been ok, but that wasn’t the case. I really would have enjoyed the experience more if the coupon limit had been even just a little bit higher. Regardless, I still had fun and got a great deal!

I liked that this store was identical to my favorite Walgreens down where I live, so I knew where everything was.
