April 27, 2010 by Fritzie

I tend to be a procrastinator, so I was very proud of myself that I managed to get to Walgreens on Sunday morning right when they opened. That is something I rarely ever do, but I may have to do it more often. I was pleasantly surprised, the store I went to was pretty much fully stocked and had hardly any customers yet. I always prefer going to the cosmetics counter so I don’t tie up the line at the front register with my coupons, but the cosmetics cashier wasn’t available that early yet. Fortunately, like I said, the store wasn’t busy yet at all, so I asked the cashier up front if it was ok after the first transaction to take my purchases out to my car and come back in and do another transaction (I like to get off on the right foot with the cashiers and ask in advance about doing more than one transaction, it’s always worked better for me that way personally). She said that was fine so I was able to do 2 very nice transactions that day.

Transaction #1:

  • Clio Personal Trimmer $4.99, Got back $5.00 RR
  • Skintimate Shave Cream $2.99, Used $2.00/1 coupon from Cosmopolitan magazine, April 2010 issue, Got back $3.00 RR
  • Stayfree Pads 16 ct. $2.99, Used $2.00/1 coupon from the 3/28 RP insert, Got back $3.00 RR
  • Tone Body Wash $3.99, Used $1.00/1 Tone Body Wash coupon from HERE, Got back $3.00 RR
  • 6 Rolls Scotch Tape $0.99, Used 6 $1.00/1 coupons from HERE and Used Walgreens weekly ad coupon (handed over last to avoid the coupon beeping) Note: Scotch has since removed the $1.00 coupon. UPDATE: There’s another $1.00/1 coupon HERE, I don’t know how long it will be available, so I’d hurry and save/print it now if you haven’t had a chance to do so yet.
  • 5 Easter Gift Bags 85% Off Clearance $0.03 ea.
  • Used $10.00 in previous RRs
  • Final Cost $0.05 and Got back $14.00 in Register Rewards

Transaction #2:

  • Clio Personal Trimmer $4.99, Got back $5.00 RR
  • Skintimate Shave Cream $2.99, Got back $3.00 RR
  • Stayfree Pads 16 ct. $2.99, Used $2.00/1 coupon from the 3/28 RP insert, Got back $3.00 RR
  • Plackers Flossers $2.00, Used $0.50 coupon from the 4/18 RP insert, Got back $2.00 RR
  • 6 Rolls Scotch Tape $0.99, Used 6 $1.00/1 coupons from HERE and Used Walgreens weekly ad coupon (handed over last to avoid the coupon beeping)
  • 5 Easter Gift Bags 85% Off Clearance $0.03 ea.
  • Used $10.00 in previous RRs
  • Final Cost $0.60 and Got back $13.00 in Register Rewards

My Dillons Deals 4/25 & 4/26 and $2.00 off Deli Fried Chicken E-Coupon

April 27, 2010 by Fritzie

Oh, how I love my Dillons. Overall, they have been the place where I save the most money on food deals. They just have the best combination of deals-they markdown items frequently, they have E-coupons and they double coupons! The below transaction has to be one of my favorites to date:

4/25 Trip

  • 3 Fast Fixin’ Chicken 8 oz. $1.00 ea., Used 3 $1.25/1 Fast Fixin’ Fast Classics Bag coupon from the All You Magazine-January, March & May 2010 issues (I noticed when I purchased 3 of these a few days ago using the $1.00 coupons that these 8 oz. Fast Fixin’ Chicken were now being packaged in bags, not boxes. The $1.25 coupon just says “Bag”, there are no size exclusions. I wasn’t sure if the coupon would work, but they went through just fine, no beeps!)
  • Bumble Bee Albacore 2.5 oz. pouch $1.00, Used $0.55/1 coupon from the 2/21 SS insert (doubled to $1.00)
  • 10 Mentos Gum $1.00 ea. (this is my favorite gum and I’ve converted several people over to this gum as well, they all love it!), Used 10 $0.55/1 coupons from the 2/21 SS insert (doubled to $1.00)
  • 2 packages of Smart Chicken Thighs (about 2 lbs. ea), Marked down to $1.94 & $1.84, Used 2 $1.00/1 coupon from HERE
  • 2 Scotch Brite Greener Clean Sponges $1.00 ea., Used 2 $1.00/1 coupons (no longer available) and will submit for Free Tote Mail-in Offer HERE
  • 2 Country Crock Margarine 15 oz. $1.00 ea., Used 2 $0.40/1 coupons from IE HERE or FIREFOX HERE (doubled)
  • Clif Mojo Trail Mix Organic Bar $1.00, Used $0.50/1 coupon from the Mambo Sprouts Spring Coupon Booklet(doubled)
  • Kroger Half & Half 32 oz. $1.99
  • Used $3.00 Catalina Coupon from a previous purchase
  • Final Cost $0.52, Yayyyy!

4/26 Trip

Ok, Dillons has the BEST Deli Fried Chicken in town, no contest in my opinion. So, let me tell, you I was delighted when I saw that Dillons had added an E-coupon on their site HERE for $2.00 off Deli 8 piece mixed (dark, baked, or fried) chicken.

  • Horizon Organic Whole Milk Gallon, originally $5.99, Marked down to $1.99
  • Hiland Cottage Cheese 24 oz., Marked down to $0.99, Used $0.50/1 coupon from HERE (doubled)
  • Deli Fried Chicken (8 pc. Mixed) $5.99, Used $2.00/1 E-coupon from HERE
  • 6 Bumble Bee Albacore 2.5 oz. pouch $1.00 ea., Used 6 $0.55/1 coupon from the 2/21 SS insert (doubled to $1.00)
  • Final Cost $6.34

Ok, so this week was all about Nature’s Bounty. I went to 2 different stores and got really lucky at both stores. I had been able to get 4 $5.00 coupons from HERE, so I was anxious to use them. I also had a few $3.00 ones and was able to use a couple of them as well.

  • Final Cost Zero, got back a $20.00 in Register Rewards for the 4 transactions

4/20 Trip

  • Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D-1000 120 ct. softgel $5.00, Used $3.00 coupon from HERE and Got back $5.00 RR (Again, this was not on the shelf, so I asked a stocker and she brought back a whole box from the back!)

  • Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D-1000 120 ct. softgel $5.00, Used $3.00 coupon from HERE and Got back $5.00 RR (Again, this was not on the shelf, so I asked a stocker and she brought back a whole box from the back!)
  • 2 Geisha Canned Mushrooms $0.50 ea.
  • Used $3.00 in previous RRs
  • Final Cost Zero and Got back $5.00 in Register Rewards

April 16, 2010 by Fritzie

My trips to Target lately have been pretty short lately. It seems like the last few times I’ve been in my Target, the stock has been super low and what I’ve been looking for just isn’t there. I guess I’m going to have to start going at a different time.

  • REnew Standard Basic Pillow $2.54, Used $1.50/1 Target coupon from HERE
  • 2 Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts 20 oz. $2.84 ea., Used 2 $1.50/1 coupons (no longer available) and 2 $1.00/1 Target coupons from HERE
  • Got a $0.05 back for using a Reusable bag (I am finally starting to remember to bring them along!)
  • Final Cost $1.67, Used a Target Gift Card from a previous deal, so no OOP (out of pocket), Yay!

I love Aldis for their produce, I try to make a trip there every week to check out their weekly deals. They simply cannot be beaten on some of their produce prices. When I was up visiting my mom in Iowa Easter week, I stopped in at an Aldis there and noticed that they had Skim Milk Gallons on sale for only $1.99. WOW! I have never seen milk here that cheap, what an awesome deal!

  • 2 Garden Salads $0.39 ea.
  • 2 Mushroom 8 oz. packages $0.69 ea.
  • Pork Rinds $1.19
  • Final Cost $3.51
