Latest Shopping Trip

So on my latest shopping excursion, I ventured out to Target, Walmart and Price Cutter. My Target was really wiped out so I had to do some major improvising to take advantage of the $10 off Grocery Target coupon that is available this week, but all-in-all, I was happy with my trip. As much as I love the awesomeness of Target, I do find it frustrating that my Target seems to be consistently wiped out of a lot of items every single time I go. I’m not sure why that is, either I have incredibly bad timing no matter what time of the day/week I try to go 😉 or our Joplin Target is just a seriously popular and heavily shopped location. Seriously, I think Joplin could EASILY support two Targets, especially considering the lack of grocery stores in Joplin. Anyway, back on subject (ha!). I stopped in at Walmart to price match a few produce deals and also picked up a few buys at Price Cutter (love the freebies, woot!) Here’s the details from my trip:

aldi shopping

Here is my Aldi shopping trip today, using the wonderful $10/$40 Aldi Coupon I posted about earlier.  I picked up lots of nice buys, even better with the coupon! I had no issues using the coupon at the register and the cashier that checked me out commented on how great it was that so many people were redeeming the coupon and saving extra money. Gotta love those cashiers that root for people saving money! 🙂  I do want to mention that there is a coupon floating around that is says it is good for ALL states. From what I have been told, that one is NOT valid. The only valid coupon (and also verified by Aldi corporate) is the one I posted and that is to be used in the following states only: MO, KS, AR, NE and OK. Anyway, here are all the deals I snagged today, I even found markdowns, yay:

  • 2 packages of Chicken Thighs – Each package was about 4 lbs, $4.49 & $4.69, marked down $2.00 off each package!
  • Appleton Farms Spiral Sliced Ham – $1.49 lb., $12.11
  • 2 Yukon Gold Potatoes 5 lb bags – $0.99 each
  • Multi-Color Bell Peppers 3 pk – $1.49
  • Red Onions 2 lbs – $0.99
  • Roma Tomatoes 20 oz – $1.29
  • Cream Cheese 8 oz – $0.99
  • Instant Coffee – $2.99
  • Paprika – $0.99
  • Margarine 45 oz – $1.89
  • Half & Half – $1.59
  • Instant Tea Drink Mix 12 qt – $1.79
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes 13 oz – $0.99

My latest Aldi shopping adventure was a bountiful one, I was able to find all sorts of great fresh produce on this particular trip. Aldi is most definitely one of my favorite places to shop for fresh produce, but it can sometimes be hit or miss for me. Some trips I can’t hardly seem to find any fruits and veggies I want to buy and then other days are, well, like this one, SCORE! 😉 I have been wanting to experiment with making my own soups, so I was happy to find plenty of veggies this time.  And I ‘ll be sharing the soup recipe that I concocted a bit later this week. aldi shopping

Here is my Aldi shopping trip from earlier today. I was especially looking forward to today’s trip because they have so many great fresh veggie deals this week. I love our Aldi store for their fresh produce deals which are typically quite a bit cheaper than other stores in my area. With Aldi, I have found that sometimes I have to really pick through their produce to find the best/freshest selection, but then again, I can say that for just about every grocery store. Of course, I tend to be slightly obsessive when it comes to picking out items at the store. I am also an obsessive label reader and I always check the dates on packages. Um, you definitely do not want to go shopping with me, it takes awhile. LOL Anyway, here is what I picked up today:

  • 3 Cucumbers – $0.29 each
  • 2 Baby Lettuce 4 ct packages – $1.59 each (I had a salad from this today, it is SO good!)
  • 1 Head Lettuce – $1.09
  • Grape Tomatoes – $0.69
  • Slicing Tomatoes 24 oz – $1.29
  • Radishes (big bag!) – $0.99
  • 2 Multi-Color Bell Peppers 3 ct packages – $1.49 each
  • 3 lbs Onions – $1.69
  • Oat Bran Cereal – $1.29
  • BBQ Chips 10.5 oz – $1.49
  • Mustard 14 oz – $0.69
  • 2 Whole Chickens – $0.89 lb
  • 3 Dozen Eggs – $1.07 each
  • Final Cost – $29.40
