I would like to take a moment today to remember my Father. Five years ago today I lost my dad to cancer. He was in his 60s and taken away far too soon, but I am eternally grateful for the time and memories I do have with  him and I will forever carry those memories with me. He really was one of a kind and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. I love you Papa and hope you’re fishing somewhere in heaven. ♥
To this day, something I still find hard to comprehend, the following dance routine from “So You Think You Can Dance” aired on TV the day that my father passed away five years ago. It was choreographed by the incomparable Mia Michaels, who created this dance as a tribute to her father, who she also lost to cancer. It was a great comfort for me that night and to this day, I consider it a gift from the heavens.

After breaking heat records here in the Ozarks yesterday, I couldn’t help but wish for cooler weather. So I looked back through my pictures and found this one from an ice storm a couple years ago. Now, don’t get me wrong, I sure don’t want to go through another weather event like that, but I have to admit, it sure does look nice & cool right now ( And yes, I think this continuously hot weather is starting to affect my brain-lol). 😉
Any thoughts?! On another note, I haven’t participated in WW for a long time & I missed it, so thought it would be fun to give it a go again! 🙂

Last Saturday on Halloween, we went to our small family gathering, the goodie bags I put together were a huge hit! I also won a giant cookie (middle of the table) at Dillons during their “Spooktacular” Sale, so that was a great addition to our holiday festivities.
Ok, a few words this week! 😉 Halloween is such a fun time of year, full of decorating & festivities. Here’s a few of the things I’ll be putting together for goodie bags for a Halloween family gathering we’ll be going to on Saturday (sorry, I didn’t want to drag everything out! lol). And of course, being the frugal gal that I am, I bought all of these items either dirt cheap or got them free after coupons. I mean, who can pass up free candy?!?
