I just got back from My Aldi Shopping Trip today and I was happy to stumble across a markdown sale on chicken. I know what we’re having for supper tonight! 😉 I also picked up a couple of great buys in the produce department. I stopped in at Food4Less afterwards and picked up a bag of potatoes. The price was right at $2.48 for a 15 pound bag, but I was disappointed when I got home, several of the potatoes from Food4Less in the bag were moldy, so I had to throw several out, so not such a hot deal after all. 🙁 Oh well, back to my Aldi trip and my great deals from there:

  • 3 packs of Chicken Thighs, $0.99 lb. All of them had $2.00 Off Stickers on them, so basically half off ($2.03, $2.41, $2.28)
  • Green Bell Peppers (3 ct.) – $1.29
  • Baby Carrots (16 oz.) – $0.49
  • Imperial Quarters (1 lb.) – $0.79
  • Country Creamery Margarine (45 oz.) – $1.99
  • Baked Beans (28 oz.) – $1.19
  • Skim Milk (gallon) – $2.56
  • Wheat Bread (20 oz.) – $0.99
  • Hot Dog Buns – $0.79
  • Cheese Crackers – $0.99
  • Chocolate Bar (7.25 oz.) – $1.49
  • Corn Chips – $0.99
  • Salsa – $1.69
  • Tomato Paste – $0.39
  • Taco Seasoning – $0.35
  • Spaghetti (32 oz.) – $1.69
  • Water (24 pk.) – $2.29
  • Final Cost $27.98

I haven’t been shopping much at Aldi except every other week stopping in to buy 1 lb of ground beef and 1 lb of ground turkey. (red meat bothers my system, but hubby is ok if I mix half and half)
You can’t beat $1.69 for the ground turkey over $3.29 or more for the same at Dillons. It’s also not often you find the 1 lb roll of ground beef for less than the $2.79 at Aldi.
I usually also buy a bag of salad and a bag of shredded cheese every other week.
This week I was going to add the 3 lb bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts, but shopped hungry.
I ended up spending $36 on food, but came home feel great about what I got as I did think meals, buying things to fill in with foods we already had at home to make complete meals.
