Revised: Walmart Updated Coupon Policy

March 19, 2011 by Fritzie

Walmart recently revised their new updated coupon policy. You can check out their latest version HERE. The biggest revision they made was to be more clear on exactly what kind of catalinas they will accept:

“We DO NOT accept the following coupons: Checkout coupons-Dollars/cents off the entire basket purchase or Percentage off the entire basket purchase” (meaning catalinas like Walgreens Register Rewards will not be accepted.)

Although it’s sad to see this change, the revised coupon policy remains coupon-friendly and still allows overage which is great. Be sure to print a copy HERE and take it with you when you go shopping at Walmart.

Gone! Revlon Beauty Tool $2.00/1 Coupon=Free products!

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

March 16, 2011 by Fritzie

UPDATE: Gone!

Whew, there’s been a ton of coupons today, I hope you have plenty of ink! Go to Target’s site HERE and you can print a coupon for $2.00 off ANY one Revlon Beauty Tool. There’s two great things abut this coupon: one, there are no restrictions so it can be used on ANY Revlon Beauty Tool and two, this is a manufacturer’s coupon and prints without a Target logo so it can be used anywhere interet coupons are accepted. I’m thinking this would be a great coupon to use at Walmart, the packs of emory boards or small nail clippers should easily be under $2.00, so you’ll get free product AND overage with their new coupon policy.

My Walmart Deals 3/12 & Experience with the New Coupon Policy

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

March 12, 2011 by Fritzie

I’ve been really anxious to try out Walmart’s new coupon policy and I was able to try out two different stores with varying results. Personally, I have almost always had trouble using coupons at Walmart in the past so I cut way down on my shopping trips there. But I was excited about the changes in their coupon policy and was more than happy to give them another shot. 😉 I haven’t had a chance to try and use Walgreens Register Rewards tat Walmart yet, but I’ll report back when I do. Anybody else had any recent Walmart experiences? Feel free to share. 🙂

Store #1

  • 2 Avery Greeting Card Kits $6.22 ea., used 2 $5.00/1 coupons from HERE
  • Great Day Omega 3 Eggs Large Dozen $1.72, Used $1.00/1 coupon from HERE (cashier said coupon was photocopied and couldn’t take it, I pointed out the coding on the coupon that proved it wasn’t and he then accepted it)
  • Farmland Spiral Sliced Ham Chunks $1.98 lb, $4.22, Used $1.00/1 Farmland any product home mailer coupon from HERE (he also said he couldn’t take this coupon because it also looked photocopied?!?!? Um, it was mailed directly from the company, clearly a legit coupon, I’m still scratching my head over that one lol. I told him to feel free to check with the manager and he then took the coupon)
  • 8 Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets $0.97 ea., Used 8 $3.00/1 Purex Complete with Zout Detergent Or 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets, Any coupons from the 2/20 RP insert (Now, he didn’t bat an eye over these coupons, he scanned them all through with no issues)
  • SS Mix $2.88 (not pictured)
  • 2 Sierra Mist 2 Liters $1.00 ea.
  • Mt. Olive Hamburger Dill Pickle Chips 46 oz. $2.42, Used $0.75/1 Mt. Olive Pickles, Peppers or Relish Product, any coupon form the 1/30 SS insert
  • Mrs. Weaver’s Pimento Spread 24 oz. $3.34
  • Final Cost $0.71

Store #2

  • Singa-ma-jig Doll $11.88 (for a birthday present)
  • White Cloud 4 Rolls $2.00 ea., Used 2 $1.00/1 White Cloud Bathroom Tissue OR Paper Towel, any coupon from All You Magazine, February issue
  • Vlasic Dill Relish $1.18, Used $0.55/1 coupon HERE
  • Portabella Canned Mushrooms $0.88
  • Farmland Spiral Sliced Ham Chunks $1.98 lb, $4.22, Used $1.00/1 Farmland any product home mailer coupon from HERE
  • French’s Spicy Brown Mustard 12 oz. $1.28, Used $0.75/1 coupon from the 1/23 SS insert
  • Pack of S Hooks $0.97
  • Velveeta 2 lb. $4.88, Used $1.00/1 coupon HERE (no longer available)
  • G/V Taco Seasoning $0.46
  • 4 Bar-S Franks $0.75 ea., Used 2 $1.00/2 Bar-S Brand Franks Or Bologna coupon from the 1/30 RP insert
  • 12 Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets $0.97 ea., Used 12 $3.00/1 Purex Complete with Zout Detergent Or 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets, Any coupons from the 2/20 RP insert (The cashier said she couldn’t take the coupons because the coupon pictured the big size. I pointed out the coupon said good on any size and she went over and asked her supervisor & the supervisor also said no. I asked her to come over, she did and I said that it was good on any size and she said they couldn’t take it anyway because the items were only $0.97 and the coupon was $3.00. At that point, I whipped out the new coupon policy (which she didn’t bother to even glance at) and she had the store manager come over. He said yes, the coupons were fine because they were good on any size. And then he looked at them both and said that they should both have copies of the new coupon policy at their stations and that they should review the policy again. Thank you, my thoughts exactly! 🙂  )
  • Final Cost $1.52

Walmart : Updated Coupon Policy (Overage Allowed!)

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

March 5, 2011 by Fritzie

UPDATE: They revised their policy 3/16, check out the latest changes HERE.

Wow, Walmart has just recently updated it’s coupon policy with a couple of very significant changes:

  • Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase (Meaning overage will be allowed.  I look forward to trying this one out. Personally, in my past experiences, I’ve had trouble at Walmart even getting them to adjust a coupon & accept it at all, let alone getting overage on an item!)
  • Walmart accepts Checkout coupons (also called “Catalinas”) that are printed at our competitors’ registers, have “Manufacturer Coupon” with specific requirements printed on them, a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and a scannable bar code.

Walmart’s New Updated Coupon Policy

Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

  • Manufacturers’ coupons
  • Print-at-home internet coupons – Must be legible, have “Manufacturer Coupon” printed on them, have a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and have a scannable bar code.
  • Competitors’ coupons that feature a specific item for a specified price (for example, $2.99)
  • Soft drink container caps
  • Checkout coupons (also called “Catalinas”) that are printed at our competitors’ registers, have “Manufacturer Coupon” with specific requirements printed on them, a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and a scannable bar code.

Walmart does not accept the following coupons:

  • Print-at-home Internet coupons that require no purchase
  • Competitors’ coupons for dollars/cents or percentage off, buy one get one free, and double- or triple-value coupons

The following are guidelines and limitations:

  • Only one coupon per item is permitted.
  • Coupons must have an expiration date and be redeemed prior to expiration.
  • Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.
  • Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise that we sell.
  • Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
  • We accept the following with Customer Service Supervisor/Management approval – 40 or more coupons, Any coupon over $20, $50 or more in coupons in one transaction

Be sure to print a copy of their new coupon policy HERE and have it handy on your next Walmart shopping trip. 🙂
