Dillons Update: Stacking eCoupons & Manufacturer’s Coupons

I’ve been trying for about a month to get an update from Dillons’ corporate and finally got confirmation in regards to the issue of stacking eCoupons & Manufacturer’s coupons together. I know while several locations phased this out some time ago, a few stores (like mine) were still allowing this. Here’s the message from corporate:

“We are in the process of changing in our ability to stack eCoupons and manufacturer coupons, at the request of our vendors and manufacturers. Since the electronic and paper coupons both count as manufacturer coupons, we can no longer combine the two. eCoupons will always scan first with the Plus Card, which would prevent the use of paper coupons.”

And on my last trip to Dillons, they had signs posted at checkout that effective 4/4/11, they would no longer allow stacking of eCoupons & manufacturer’s coupons. If you haven’t seen this posting at your store yet, you probably will in the near future. I’ve heard from a couple readers that they have seen this signage at their stores. I know this recent change is disappointing, but it personally won’t prevent me from shopping at Dillons by any means. They still have one of the most generous coupon policies in my area hands down and they do so many things right (great staff, sales & markdowns imo).

Our stores disallowed it a few weeks ago. Stinks, but I agree. And in most cases the paper coupons will be a better deal. We can still use the store coupons that they send out in emails though! 🙂

Haven’t seen any signs at my Dillon’s as of yet! When I do will it be disappointing…yes! However, I love my local Dillon’s and will always be a faithful customer. Thank you for the update!

Just going to be a pain in the rump to remove all my ecoupons. You do have to scan your card to get the double coupons right?

The way I see it…you can still use both…just not together…eCoupons are usually good for one purchase only…so won’t you still be able to use one eCoupon for one product and then your manufacturer coupons (that double or are high value) on another of the same products?

The part that will be a pain for a few months is that you can’t remove most e-coupons loaded from non-Dillons sites (Cellfire, Shortcuts, etc.)- so you’ll have to settle for lots of savings opportunities at only 1/2 of what you would get with your paper coupons. I really wish they would post it in individual stores with a little more notice before it goes into effect, so people would have time to stop loading the e-coupons before that happens.

Just another thought… why can’t they set up the computer system to instead double e-coupons, since they won’t be stacking anymore?

I just went to Dillons today and I didn’t realize that this new policy was in order. I was very disappointed that I had to pass on some great deals on tampons, pads, soap, etc. If I wasn’t a grown woman I would have cried right then and there. Oh well. Hopefully, I can get all those things for super cheap at the drugstores.

Didn’t think it would happen so quick in springfield, mo but policy changed here too. I called # on back of Dillons card and they said they’re unable to remove any loaded thru another source sooooo I’m going to use another/New Plus card for now. Can anyone think of any drawbacks? I liked what Jeanne said about being able to use both on purchase of multiples/when I want more items than I have paper coupons for.

I know at the W Sunshine store in Springfield, Mo they have changed their policy. I plan to get a new shopper card when I go tomorrow so I can still get the doubles and then load only the ecoupons I will need for that trip.

The Dillons on W Kearney (Springfield, MO) changed theirs a while back. I just cleared out my card of all ecoupons completely. I dont want any surprises and not have my papers double! 🙂

Today (4/13/11)when I shopped at the Dodge city Dillons, they had this policy posted. BUT it also said that they would only double the first coupon on any item. So if you get two of any one item, only the first coupon will double. Have any of the rest of you encountered this problem? Or is it just my store? I am really disappointed in this. It will really keep you from getting multiples of some really good deals.
