aldi shopping trip

Here is my latest Aldi shopping trip and on little adventure I was happy to find some nice markdowns! I kinda struck out on the fresh veggies this time, so I was pretty happy to find some other deals. It had been a long time since I had found any markdowns at all in their meat department, but they had a bunch when I went on Sunday. I also found the snack bars on clearance too, so I picked up a box of those as well. Anyway, onto the details…

  • Radishes (big bag) – $0.99
  • 2 Avocados – $0.33 each
  • 3 Packages of Chicken Thighs, normally $1.19 lb, each package was marked down $2.00
  • Fiber Now Bars – on Clearance for $1.29
  • Clancy’s Potato Chips 10.5 oz – $1.49

shopping trips

Here are my Price Cutter and Walmart shopping trips from yesterday. I headed out in the morning in the rain (and it has been doing a lot of that lately) and picked up a few things at each store. I had only planned on going to Walmart, but I stopped in at Price Cutter too. I am glad I did because I happened across a few meat markdowns. I hadn’t been to Walmart in quite a long time, I am just not a fan of the crowds. One thing I do love about them though, is their ad match policy. Here’s what I picked up at each store today:

5 large Green Bell Peppers – Ad Matched @ $0.50 each
2 Cucumbers – $0.50 each

Kikkoman Soy Sauce 10 oz – $1.74, Used $1/1 Kikkoman coupon

kohls coupon in the mail

Yay! Keep your eyes open for a high value Kohls coupon in the mail over the next few days. I got one in my mailbox today and it is good for $10.00 off ANY purchase $10.00 or more! This will make for a super buy, if not even a FREE shopping trip! It is valid in-store only July 31st through August 10th, 2013. And for those of you in Missouri, this coupon will go great with the Missouri Tax Free Weekend coming up. I love that these coupons are good even on Sale and Clearance items, so it usually makes for an awesome deal. I am not sure if they are randomly sending these out, or who gets one (I don’t have a Kohls card and I still got this coupon), but I wanted to mention it because it would be really easy to miss this one in a pile of junk mail. Feel free to leave a comment if you got one!

I also got one of these wonderful coupons earlier this month and for a little inspiration, I thought I would share with you how I used mine. 🙂

Walgreens Shopping Trip ($1.72 oop, BIG Savings!)

walgreens shopping

Here is my Walgreens shopping trip today. I stopped in this morning and was happy to find everything really well-stocked and I was able to pick up some really nice buys. My favorite kind of deals are like this one where very little out of pocket (oop) is needed. And that is especially awesome considering how tight our budget is right now. 😉 Anyway, I split this trip into multiple transactions to keep the oop low. I wanted to mention that when I do any multiple transactions like this, I prefer to do them at the Cosmetics Counter. If I do this at the front register, if there is a line, I always go back to the end of the line for each transaction. That way, no one behind me has to wait. I’ll break down each transaction step by step:

Aldi Shopping Trip Today (lots of great fresh veggie deals!)

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

July 11, 2013 by Fritzie

aldi shopping

Here is my Aldi shopping trip from earlier today. I was especially looking forward to today’s trip because they have so many great fresh veggie deals this week. I love our Aldi store for their fresh produce deals which are typically quite a bit cheaper than other stores in my area. With Aldi, I have found that sometimes I have to really pick through their produce to find the best/freshest selection, but then again, I can say that for just about every grocery store. Of course, I tend to be slightly obsessive when it comes to picking out items at the store. I am also an obsessive label reader and I always check the dates on packages. Um, you definitely do not want to go shopping with me, it takes awhile. LOL Anyway, here is what I picked up today:

  • 3 Cucumbers – $0.29 each
  • 2 Baby Lettuce 4 ct packages – $1.59 each (I had a salad from this today, it is SO good!)
  • 1 Head Lettuce – $1.09
  • Grape Tomatoes – $0.69
  • Slicing Tomatoes 24 oz – $1.29
  • Radishes (big bag!) – $0.99
  • 2 Multi-Color Bell Peppers 3 ct packages – $1.49 each
  • 3 lbs Onions – $1.69
  • Oat Bran Cereal – $1.29
  • BBQ Chips 10.5 oz – $1.49
  • Mustard 14 oz – $0.69
  • 2 Whole Chickens – $0.89 lb
  • 3 Dozen Eggs – $1.07 each
  • Final Cost – $29.40

walgreens shopping

Here is my Walgreens shopping trip today. I picked up some really nice deals, especially with the Friends & Family Discount that is available today (extra 15-20% off). When this discount rolls around (which isn’t very often), it is a great time to dig out any Rain Checks you might have on hand. I love that Walgreens offers these Rain Checks and that they do not expire, so you can hold onto them until a great buy comes along. Here is what I got on my shopping trip today. I was really happy that I found everything I was looking for. The prices below are after the Friends & Family discount coupon:
