If you enjoyed the film Rudy like I did, then you’ll want to check out Rudy: My Story which was written by Rudy Ruettiger who inspired the inspirational movie. The movie was so heartwarming for many reasons, but the main reason being that Rudy was just an everyday guy and his journey to make his dreams come true, despite life’s many challenges that were thrown at him. The book details his real-life story as the man behind the beloved movie Rudy, his continued determination to make his dreams come true, and how we can all dream big too. He details the behind-the-scenes of the ten years it took to make the movie and how that tossed him into a new career of public speaking that continues on stages today alongside world-class leaders and speakers. He talks about how his failures and hard lessons taught him to never give up. The main message of the book, like the movie, is that anyone with a dream can make their dream a reality with a lot of hard work and especially with a lot of heart. The most interesting part of the book for me was the section detailing how the movie Rudy got to be made in the first place. The other parts of the book are heartwarming as well, as he details how he got though many life’s challenges and never lost hope. He  was an “Average Joe” simply looking to make the most out of his life and I found that a very positive message indeed.
