I went to my local Walgreens tonight and tried to use a coupon out of their monthly coupon book along with a mfg coupon and was told I couldn’t do this. That the coupons in the monthly coupon book were not considered “store” coupons even though the UPC# starts with a “0”. Has this happened to any one else?
Yes, this has happened. It’s really a shame that Walgreens has yet to issue a corporate coupon policy, it would really clear up a lot of confusion, not to mention frustration. They should definitely accept both coupons, but each store makes up their own coupon policies, so it’s very much a ymmv situation. Personally, I stick to a couple of Walgreens and only go when I know my coupon-friendly cashiers are working.
