Here are this week’s Harps Deals with Coupon Matchups

  • Harps Coupon Policy

Harps has now added the Joplin store to their website & they are now set up to accept Digital coupons for the Joplin store. The Joplin store doubles coupons up to and including $0.50, so I will be including doubling scenarios in my post.

A note about Harps’ Digital Coupons. Usually, the coupons are loaded onto a shopper’s card and then redeemed at checkout. These are a little different than other digital coupons I’ve seen. To utilize Harps’ digital coupons, you’ll need to register on their site HERE, create an account along with a 10 digit coupon id number and a 4 digit pin number. Then you can add the coupons you’d like and when you checkout, give the cashier the 10 digit code and the coupons automatically deduct at checkout. Interesting, huh? 🙂

Also, keep in mind, prices and selection will vary by store, so check your local Harps ad.

Any Summer Fresh readers out there?

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

October 25, 2012 by Fritzie

UPDATE: Thanks for the feedback all, I’ve decided I will be continuing the Summer Fresh matchups each week. 🙂 I’m also contemplating adding one or two stores, possibly Hy-Vee and/or Harter House. Those are the 2 stores I’ve gotten the most requests for, especially Hy-Vee.

So, as I’ve noted earlier, our Carl Junction Summer Fresh is Re-opening as a Cash Saver on 10/26 and since we will no longer have a Summer Fresh here and not many people are viewing my weekly Summer Fresh posts, I’m contemplating discontinuing the Summer Fresh posts. Each one of these grocery store posts I do each week takes me a considerable amount of time to put together, so if they’re not being utilized, my time would be better spent working on other stores that people do have more of an interest in. I know I’ve gotten several emails about Hy-Vee and a few other stores, so I would definitely considering adding at least one more store to my lineup since I would be dropping one. And just to be clear, Summer Fresh is the only store I’m considering dropping from my list each week, I will be doing all the other stores I regularly do as usual. Anyway, if you’re a Summer Fresh reader, and you’d like to continue seeing my weekly posts, let me know and leave a comment.  Thanks! 🙂

Kitchen Sink Fix: He actually thought this was a good idea…

This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

October 25, 2012 by Fritzie

(Before)

(After)

So, I have this totally disgusting old kitchen sink, that no matter what I clean it with it still look nasty. I’ve tried an endless number of things and scrubbed until my fingers were raw. On different occasions I’ve tried vinegar, bleach, Greased Lightning, Ajax, Magic Eraser, various other household cleaners, baking powder and toothpaste. It did eventually look a little better after I experimented with all of these different methods, but it’s still just not good enough. The molding behind the faucet is especially stubborn. If anybody has any ideas, I would LOVE to hear them, because I am fresh out. LOL

Anyway, to the funny part. So, my dh John is always getting these ideas on how to “improve” things around the house. As long as I have known him, he has always had this urge to modify everything he gets his hands on and “make it better”. Now, I have to say that some of his ideas are really awesome and it’s one of the many things I love about him. But, on occasion, a few of his ideas are, well, just plain wacky. And this one REALLY takes the cake! I guess John got tired of listening to me grumbling about the sink, because I walked in and was greeted with this sight:

Yes, that is a paper towel with a hair band wrapped around it. So, my first thought was Whhhhaaaaaat on earth?!?! And then I just started uncontrollably giggling and it was a reallllly long time before I stopped. 😆  Oh, and by the way, John is still convinced this is a marvelous invention, he has explained it to me at least a half a dozen times and to him it makes perfect sense. One of his explanations went something like thus: “It is perfect, you don’t have to worry about getting the knob dirty, like say you’re cooking something greasy in the kitchen, you don’t have to worry about getting everything dirty and then you can just replace the paper towel when you’re done!” My response was basically “There is NO way that thing is staying on!” *Snort*

It was at this point that I kinda felt like we were on 2 different planets, because he thought I was crazy for not liking it and I thought he was nuts for coming up with the idea in the first place. In the end, we just agreed to disagree on this “invention” of his and needless to say, it is history. 😉 Do you have a fixer upper in your household are do you like to make improvements yourself? If so, I’d love to hear about it.
